David Mohamad

I'm a software engineer based in Cambridge, UK with a uniquely cross-domain background — from physics R&D and embedded systems through to web applications. I run Casomo Ltd — one engineer, not an agency. I take on a small number of consulting engagements and build my own software products between them.

I started in physics R&D, working in academia and commercial functional materials. In 2016 I moved into software — first medical robotics, then gas sensing for defence, then consulting. Most recently I was lead engineer at a fintech startup building tools for insurers.

Every role meant solving problems from a blank sheet of paper with bright people across disciplines. I wrote software to bring hardware to life. I also worked from the angle of verification: clarifying what the system had to do, then proving it did.

That combination is what I now offer directly. Not everyone can bring in a large consultancy, and not everyone needs to. When you work with me, you're dealing with one engineer who gets the problem from the underlying science through to the software.
